The other day, someone I work with asked me how I measure my success and my answer was: 10,000 footnotes.
He looked at me quizzically and I went on to explain.
I have been given the opportunity to work with hundreds of people a year helping them expand their leadership capacity. Everyone I meet is writing their life story and for a moment of time, sometimes it’s as short as 90mins or as long as 12+ months, I’m part of their story. And I hope to impact their story in such a way, that when their story is done, you’ll find in the footnotes; sharing company with others who were privileged enough to make a positive impression.
I would love to be a footnote in 10,000 stories.
And maybe there are a handful stories I could make the “acknowledgment” page.
While I’m at it, maybe my kids could dedicate their stories to me 😂
