It Took 3 Pots

I recently bought a teapot. It’s yellow. It’s also short and stout…☺️

I bought the teapot because I wanted to replicate the steeped tea we used to make at home when I was a kid.

The recipe was simple. Two tea bags steeping for five minutes (timed). Upon the timer going off, remove the tea bags.

Voila! The perfect cup of tea.

So, with my new yellow teapot, I followed mom’s recipe.

And with the first sip came disappointment. Too weak. I guess my teapot was bigger than the family one.

So, the next day I tried again. This time I steeped it for seven minutes.

And the first sip was once again met with disappointment. Too strong.

Ok. Day 3. The third try. This time, six minutes.

And the first sip brought me right back to my childhood. It was nostalgic! I discovered the formula and it only took three pots.

Most things never work out on the first attempt. Our first attempts are often met with disappointment. In, fact disappointment is the path to getting what you want.

Ever notice our best leaders never stopped after the first sip of disappointment?
