I got annoyed with my son yesterday for being exactly like me 🤦‍♂️.
In this moment of judgment, it reminded me of the three reasons why we judge others:
- Incongruent Values (they act in ways we wouldn’t).
- Envy (they have something wish we had).
- The Ugly Truth (they demonstrate an behaviour/trait that reminds us of an “ugly” part we are ignoring/denying in ourselves, so we project our inner disgust onto them through judgment).
My annoyance wasn’t with my son, it was with myself.
When we judge others it’s says more about ourselves than others.
What is your judgement saying about you?
