Direct Flight

Recently booking a flight I was given two options;

  1. A direct flight – a clear and straightforward path, arriving to my destination quickly so I can maximize opportunities on my trip.
  2. An indirect flight – a convoluted route requiring stop-overs, dead time and added stress that would massively delay my arrival time while also impeding my trip’s opportunities.

I thought to myself, why would anyone purposely choose the discomfort that comes with an indirect fight? I mean sure, you save a few bucks but not enough to pay for the confusion, the mental strain and missed opportunities.

That’s why when given the option of a direct flight vs an indirect flight, 99.7% of global travellers would choose a direct flight. (ps – I have zero statistical evidence to support my claim🙃).

Direct fights are always better for the short and long term. The same is true with communication.

However and unfortunately, many people choose to take the long route when communicating. Instead of being straightforward they avoid. They ignore. They hint. They couch. All of which leads to confusion, frustration and delays.

While being direct may come with some turbulence, it is the quickest path to your destination.
